tuna and pasta bake? cook pasta mix in tuna, mix in tom puree/tin toms/passata, tin of sweetcorn. put in a dish, grate cheese on top and put under hot grill for 5 mins.

quorn chilli and rice? onions, garlic, chilli powder, baked beans, quorn, tin toms and tom puree.

quorn spaghetti bolognese? onions, garlic, tin toms, quorn mince, dried herbs.

moondog · 22/04/2006 19:09

If you have potatoes you could do a Spanish omelette type thing.
Tinned tomatoes are great but the problem with using them is that everything ends up tasting the same.

Carmenere · 22/04/2006 19:13

Spaghetti carbonara or egg fried rice.

moondog · 22/04/2006 19:14

Detta, that tuna bake sounds minging, utterly minbing.

foundintranslation · 22/04/2006 19:14

agree with moondog. Spanish omelette with halved cherry tomatoes and dried herbs.

Carmenere · 22/04/2006 19:16

Actually I agree with fastasleep and moondog a Spanish omlette type thing with cherry toms and bacon would be nice.

Carmenere · 22/04/2006 19:17

Sorry meant foundintranslation Blush

zippitippitoes · 22/04/2006 19:17

I thoink I might go for the spanish omelette, should i also add some frozen peppers or will they be too soggy?

OP posts:
Carmenere · 22/04/2006 19:25

Defrost the peppers in the micro first - or by pouring hot water over them and then squeeze the excess moisture out of them - then they will be fine.

zippitippitoes · 22/04/2006 19:26

good sounds like an excellent tip now i just have to wait until 10.00pm to eat it!!!

OP posts:
moondog · 22/04/2006 19:28

I'd do the cherry toms. separately as a salad with a home made vinaigrette and some dried thyme.
Becareful with the ole Spanish omelette-can become a bit like the contents of a rubbish bin if you put too many things in it.

Frozen peppers??
How odd!
Never knew such a thing existed.

zippitippitoes · 22/04/2006 19:34

they are chopped mixed frozen peppers..I chuck them in curry with frozen blocks of spinach

the ungourmet dish is as follows

chicken thighs covered in natural yogurt mixed with curry paste and baked in the oven after about twenty minutes chuck the frozen spinach and peppers in and stir into the sauce! Grin

moondog i used to make a "Turkish" dish years ago with bread and butter yogurt and almonds with chicken baked on top of it but can't remmebr how to do it now..any ideas ?

OP posts:
moondog · 22/04/2006 19:57

Hmmm,not sure. Sounds intriguing,like a Persian thing.
How did you do the bread? In slices with chicken on top>>

Janh · 22/04/2006 19:59

You could do spaghetti carbonara with the spag and eggs and bacon, with the cherryt oms on the side - raw or grilled.

zippitippitoes · 22/04/2006 19:59

I thought that i did it like a sort of bread abd butter pud with chicken on top but tried it recently and it didn't seem to work!

very frustrating! It should be quite crispy but moist

Moondog - yes the tuna thing does sound minbing but it's actually really good. got the recipe from someone on here for a good quick standby meal. try it - you may be surprised (or sick)

moondog · 23/04/2006 10:46

I'll take your word for it Detta!
