Places to buy local food in Bristol?

Hi all,
I have become increasingly tired of my Riverford veg box scheme as I want to support my local economy and have just found out most of their veggies come from France!

Can anyone else recommend a scheme in Bristol? It needs to be good quality at a price, and adequate to feed a family of 3 (2 of which are male and have large appetites) for a week.

Thanks in advance.

Does it have to be a delivery scheme? The Better Food Company in St Werburghs & on Whiteladies Rd doesn't do a box scheme any more, but it has lots of locally sourced food.

Otherwise, you could try one of the schemes listed by Bristol Bites. It must be very difficult - or at least rather monotonous - to fill a box with 100% locally sourced fruit & veg at this time of year, so I would guess most boxes would include some imported produce.

Just clicked the community farm link on that list and it's broken - the actual Community Farm website is here.

I've not tried them as we're outside their delivery area, but I would if I could: Bristol Farm Shop

Thanks all. I do not necessarily need a veg box scheme, but I find the weekly deliveries more convenient than having to trudge to a shop.

I like the sound of Bristol Farm Shop, and all their produce seems to be local.

Will let you know how I get on!
