Evaporated milk or condensed milk for Millionaire’s Shortbread?

I've only got evaporated milk but the receipe says condensed milk....can I use the evaporated milk instead? (sorry if thick question..don't know the difference between the two!)

I think the evaporated milk might explode if you heat the can. I'm not sure. Let us know!

They look and taste completely different so I imagine you want the condensed milk.

You need condensed milk.

It would not taste good with evaporated.

...and the difference is condensed is sweetened (hence turns easily into the fudge stuff), and evaporated isn't - it's just milk with some of the water boiled off.
