Normally I only buy normal beef from supermarkets. But at the end of the year, we would like to have a treat.

Could you pls advise which is the best beef steak you should buy from stores like Waitrose or Sainsbury?

Thank you.

Rib-eye is usually the nicest-tasting steak. Look for steaks with a good amount of marbling - thin streaks of fat running through - as it will be juicy. Matured beef tends to be a little darker in colour and has a superior flavour.

I like fillet steak. Tesco have a good Finest one.

I had some utterly beautiful rib eye steaks from sainsbos last week - nothing special, just the standard range, nicely marbled. Tender and yummy!

Depends what kind of meat you like - I would say Rib Eye or Sirloin are my favourite - you can get matured ones and as has been said, some fine marbling is good. Aberdeen Angus steaks if you can.

Fillet steak is a much denser meat and can be really tender but you need less of it even if it is a bit more expensive.

We had some Aberdeen Angus rump from waitrose this week and it was really delicious - and was on offer so might still be.

I have also found M&S rump very good, really tender and tasty.

RIB EYE ALL THE WAY!!!!!! Fillet is delicious, ,but you need the marbling fat that a rib eye gives you . Deepest joy.
