Can I use yesterday's supermarket rotisserie chicken to make a curry?

I bought one of those rotisserie chickens yesterday. We ate half and then as soon as it cooled I put the rest of it in the fridge. Do you think it's ok to use it to make a curry with today? I've just noticed it said on the bag to eat within one hour. I don't want to give me and dh food poisoning for Christmas but its just the same as using a chicken I roasted myself isn't it?

I would

I do this all the time.

I think it is fine. As long as you refridged the remaining bits quickly. I do next day curries and soups with rotesseri remnants all the time.l

Yes absolutely.

motherinferior · 21/12/2012 14:41

No. But that's because the idea of using roast chicken in a curry is really rather odd IMO.

Id do it. It'll be fine. And tasty.

Ok, good. I'll go for it. I have no idea why I suddenly thought it might not be ok.

Do you not make turkey curry after Christmas then motherinferior? I thought everyone did this. You live and learn.

God no. My mother's Indian. We make curry using raw meat.

I don't like turkey anyway Grin

I make curry sauces and freeze them, then use them with leftover stuff. No purist, but it works!

dizzy77 · 21/12/2012 20:32

I would. I'd make sure the meat had a good boil in the sauce. The curry would be about as Indian as my mum (ie not at all) but delish.

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune · 21/12/2012 20:33

I would.
