I've just made lamb shanks for after Christmas, need to freeze - can I do it in my le creuset cast iron casserole dish?

Shouldn't think so. NOOOOO the cast iron will freeze to chunks.

I think you can. I remember reading the blurb on mine and thinking blimey, some people must be very wealthy to have enough Le Crueset for one to be tied up in the freezer.

Yes you can, just looked it up.

When you reheat, you need to put the dish into a cold oven and heat the food and oven at the same time.

Actually no, according to Le Creuset website you can't.

Grin I so need to get some sleep!
