My DP has asked me to cook this for dinner on Wed, as a farewell dinner for friends. I'm happy to do this, but fear it won't be ready til late as I'm working all day.
So, I had a possibly cunning plan: brown the meat, add gliquids etc and cook off the alcohol tom pm. Refrigerate overnight. Bring to boil Wed am then pop in slow cooker all.day so meat is tender by the time I get home, then make into pie and cook until the pastry is done.
Will this work?
