Yes I know that it's lame that I don't know; but I tend not to cook desserts much at all (mostly a savoury person). Would be grateful for you guidance

Cheers

yum

prob easiest to stew the blackberries and apples together - don't add too much sugar because the topping is sweet, but boil with a clove or two (and then fish it out, or tie it to a bit of string in the first place). maybe some cinamon too

topping: 1 part sugar, 2 parts butter, 3 parts flour. rub together like pastry until crumble like and sprikle on top. bake for 20 mins or so.

Plonk fruit in baking dish - can add sugar, mixed spice etc
Crumble flour and butter until fine, add sugar and spices.
You can also at this point add, crushed weetbix, aots etc
But I'm a purist
Bake until juices bubble and top is brown
Lucky you :)

Or if crumble is too much work

replace with breadcrumbs mixed with a little brown sugar and dot butter over the top .....and you have a Charlotte

I add 2 parts porridge oats to one part flour in my crumble. which is really yummy and means that it is perfectly acceptable to eat left overs for breakfast Grin
