Can I do Delia's choc bread and butter pud with fresh bread rather than day-old bread?

I never use stale bread. Tis always fine. (quite sickly though...)

yes, leave it out on the worktop to dry out a bit, an hours will do

Try putting bread in v low oven? Will dry it out a bit, esp if you cut crusts off first.
