Has anybody got quantities for making the icing? I went to a demo so I know (sort of) what to do but not the recipe for making up the icing. My biscuits are made and need to be iced and go into school tomorrow for children in need!

I've got the "Royal Icing" sugar in the purple and white packet.

I use about 6oz (weight) icing sugar to 1oz liquid (water, orange or lemon juice).
you need to make it fairly thick consistency, in between runny and set honey.
if too liquid you need to add loads more icing sugar, if too thick you literally need 1 or 2 drops of liquid!

I use icing sugar in pink box (silver spoon make), shouldn't make much difference

Thank you. I found a recipe on Woman's weekly website but have to say my biscuits are not creations of beauty - reminds me why I avoid cake decorating normally! Kids will probably love the sickly things though which is the main thing.
