Well, I think it's about time we had another packed lunches thread....

...I had to make them today because of the Unison strike and blimey! How do you lot get out of the house in the morning?
It took me an extra 15 mins and I so don't have 15 mins extra before going to work.
Plus I reckon that I spent more than £1 on each one (ham rolls, cherry toms, breadsticks, carrot, orange, grapes, apple juice carton and flapjack). And DS1 said there wasn't enough food.
Now I know why I do school dinners - or rather allow someone else to do them lo.
What's everyone else think?

Ds is at nursery.

He is not allowed:

crisps
chocolate
sweets
biscuits
cake (home-made or otherwise)

He is however allowed:

cereal bars - whatever kind - eg rice crappies
Whatever kind of drink - sugar filled fruit shoot

Cant understand the logic Hmm

DS1 has just gone over to packed lunches. Today he had:

ham sandwich
fruit stick
plum
cucumber sticks
banana
grapes
cheese string
yogurt tube

he normally comes home with 1 item left that he hasnt wanted. Nursery dont allow any cakes/crisps/biscuits/sweets/chocolate but he starts school next week and not sure how strict the school is. To be fair I'd probably stick to a similar thing to what he has now anyway.
