Mil 70th birthday cake...easy, impressive, recipe recommendation please...

I'd love an easy but impressive recipe for a cake for my mils birthday, plan to cook it on Friday to eat on Saturday...

Easy vanilla cake. I tend to not soak it in vanilla syrup though and just melt a large chocolate bar, spoon it over the top and decorate with white and dark chocolate.

google Lindy smith's chocolate mud cake...amzing chocolate cake. though use dark sugar and proper butter, plus make sure the flour is whisked in properly before decanting to tin.
