Nothing wrong with leaving the skins on, you can either peel at the end or mash as is! Smile

NASWM · 22/03/2006 18:09

oh - so I'm not just lazy, this is acceptable is it?

i do it all the time. it's fine. i do wash them, b/c we buy organic ones and they usually have a lot of dirt on them.

not lazy at all...the skins are very nutritious and full of fibre.
we mash them in their skins all the time.

NotQuiteCockney · 22/03/2006 18:22

I make mash with potato skins in all the time. I use a wand blender, so there aren't giant bits of skin in, but the skin is still there. I call it dirty mash. Tastes lovely.

NASWM · 22/03/2006 18:28

Right I had better get on and put them on then I guess... Thanks everyone!

in an effort to get our 2 and 4yr olds to eat some more veg they are currenty having Groovy Mashed Potato...its white and green and orange potatoes!

(its potatoes with skins, carrots, brocelli, all mashed up together, and baked beans mixed through, and served in the saucepan)
that last bit is very very important Wink according to ds!!

NASWM · 22/03/2006 18:35

This is exactly what we had last night, mashed up with a bit of wholegrain mustard and olive oil, I rarely peel, the skins are where all the goodness is.

mawbroon · 23/03/2006 08:22

I don't always peel for mash either.....

saadia · 23/03/2006 21:55

I never peel potatoes, except for mash when I take the skin off after boiling.
