Have just downloaded for my two girls. Did you notice on the chart that 8 florets of cauli and 7 cherry tomatoes are given as portions - does this seem excessive to you?

oliveoil · 22/03/2006 11:29

I did for the cauli, that does seem a lot. Cherry toms maybe not so much, as dd1 has a handful of grapes which is about that.

Not that she eats toms or cauli Angry

what i don't understand is why they feel that they have to put salt in childrens food, bought some great stuff veg ravioli but didnt use it coz of the salt content (even tho its not that much) i'm assuming toddlers can eat this but how can a toddler or even an older child decide mmm that needs a little salt to taste, they can't!!!!!!!!!!! so I wish they wouldn't add salt, rant over sorry for hyjacking your thread oliveoil Grin

I agree completely

I looked at the chicken nuggets (chiller) and it was 52% chicken and the rest was guar gum etc etc

The frozen ones were better but I still would prefer organic (am food snob when it comes to meat).

I got a meal from M&S once and it had nearly 2 thirds of a childs daily intake in it! And was disgusting, went in the in.

well (drum roll) after her tea last night of the usual cheese bl**dy sandwiches, I produced this chart and she was most impressed and asked me to chop up an apple! So "that you can write it on".

Now I know I am obsessed but that is a good start is it not?

i'm impressed! maybe it's cos she can see instant reward thingy?

fransmom · 23/03/2006 10:09

portion sizes do sound bit big. maybe try cow&gate website, have it somewhere, will post it when i find it!
