Please help with size of cake tin to use

DH is 50 on Tuesday, and when I asked him a couple of days ago what kind of cake he would like, he replied that he didn't care as long as it had marzipan in it. Although I've made Nigella's marzipan fruit cake before, I thought I'd try the easy almond cake from the Domestic Goddess book this time. Only thing is that she specifies a 25cm springform ring to bake it in (which I don't have, and he won't be even slightly bothered about having raspberries in the middle which is what she does for the picture), and although she says that you could easily bake it in a plain tin, she doesn't say what size to use. Any idea how what size of plain tin I should expect to need, or do you think it will become apparent when I have made it?

Any advice gratefully received, TIA Smile

She probably means a 25cm normal tin then.

But you could prob get away with a 23cm.
