I know it exists< i have just finished a bottle of it. But can't for the life of me remember where I bought it from and I've tried both Tesco and Sainsburys now. There is a small chance it could be Waitrose but there isn't one in our town so I don't want to make a trip there for nothing. Grrr! Gluten free Mumsnetters, please help!

I haven't been able to get it for ages now. I had the something life one. I definately used to buy it from Sainsbury's, they haven't had it for ages and I have tried every branch I visit (even on holiday). They have the bloody Soy Sauce but not the Worcestershire.

Waitrose didn't have it either when I went to ours today.

yy everywhere has bloody soy sauce!
My suspicions may be correct then, I definitely thought I'd had it from Sainsburys.

Lea and Perrins site claim their sauce is gluten free!!!

From the official site-
Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire Sauce is cholesterol free, fat free, preservative free, gluten free and has 80% less sodium than soy sauce.

BUT when I checked today in desperation there was definitely gluten listed on the ingredients, as well as barley malt. Own brand one listed barley malt vinegar. I wonder if they have changed the formula and the shop has old stock in?

If you fancy brewing your own there is a recipe here- but it takes three weeks to mature! I have no idea what Liquid Aminos is though.

Ingredients

2 cups Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 cup Yacon Syrup (or Molasses)
1/2 cup Bragg's Liquid Aminos (it's gluten-free and non-GMO) or you can use Gluten Free Tamari (San-J brand is now non-GMO too, but the alcohol could be derived from corn) or try Coconut Aminos for a soy-free version
1/4 cup Tamarind Paste
3 tablespoons Yellow or Brown Mustard Seeds
3 tablespoons Celtic Sea Salt
1 tablespoon Whole Black Peppercorns
1 teaspoon Whole Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Curry Powder
5 Cardamom Pods, smashed
1/2 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
2 Garlic Cloves, smashed
1 (1-inch) Stick Cinnamon
1 Anchovy, chopped
1 Yellow Onion, chopped
1 (1/2-inch) piece Ginger, peeled and crushed
1/2 cup Agave or Coconut Nectar (or sugar)
Directions

Combine all ingredients except the sweetener in a 2-quart saucepan; boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes.
Add agave or coconut nectar (or sugar) to vinegar mixture and whisk to combine; cook sauce for 5 minutes; transfer sauce to a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
Refrigerate, covered, for 3 weeks; strain to remove solids; return to jar. Refrigerate for up to 8 months.

Is Yorkshire Sauce any good - Henderson's Relish? I seem to remember its vegan at least...

It's very similar.

Biona?

I think I looked the Lea and perrins one up before. I think the USA version is gluten free, but they have a different version for Britain which isn't, but I could be wrong.

If something has less than 20 ppm of gluten then it is considered suitable fro those on a gluten free diet. Maybe the Lea and Perrins one falls into that catergory even with the barley malt.
