make dahl

ssmile · 10/09/2012 17:37

I've never made dahl is it complicated? I normally just shove them in a sausage stew but as they are low fat I'd like to use them in other dishes.

Sausage and lentil casserole type thing? There are recipes on the BBC Good Food website.

I make a salad with them too. Rinse and drain lentils and put in a bowl. Add chopped red onion, cucumber and cherry tomatoes cut into halves. Could add some chopped peppers too. I then mix in some cubes feta. Have also started adding some peeled satsuma segments and flakes almonds. For a dressing I usually just sprinkle some balsamic vinegar through it. Nice and filling and healthy! Even salad phobic DH loves it.
