Do you leave your slow cooker on all day when you're at work?

Definitely. I couldn't stand to be in the house with the delicious smell.

I realise I am being ridiculous and logically I know it is no different to the tv being on standby all day

But I cant shake the fear!

Many dishes can take up to 10-12 hours cooking. That's a long time to be supervising in case the cooker bursts into flames.

That is definitely the point of a slow cooker!

I find some things get too mushy if left for that long, but it absolutely depends on what you cook and it's not a safety issue.

Right I am off to buy lamb now so I can bravely leave a tagine cooking on Monday
