Can I cook this homemade Lasagne from frozen? (batch cooking novice)

Just that really. Forgot to take it out of the freezer last night for this evening.
This is my first week of cooking and freezing so I'm blundering along.

Can I cook from frozen and if so what gas mark for how long? or does it have to be defrosted.

Don't want to poison anybody.Smile

You can cook it from frozen as long as it is piping hot in the middle when you eat it.

You can cook from frozen - not sure of timings, but what vailium says, must be really hot all through; you might need to pop a piece of foil lightly on the top to stop the top of the lasagne burning before the middle is hot.

valiumredhead · 05/09/2012 13:10

I am guessing a lowish heat for about an hourish.

If you take it out now and leave it on the side it'll be defrosted by teatime?

But yes, it's fine. Foil on the top though.

Oven at 180/190 for a good hour. Stick a knife into the centre to make sure it's piping.

You can buy cook-from-frozen lasagne from Cook, so no reason why your homemade one shouldn't be the same.

Have you a defrost setting on your microwave? You could bung it in for a couple of minutes, just to start it off.

Thankyou all.

It's biggish so i don't think it's going to be defrosted by tonight.
It's in one of those foil trays so Microwave is out.

I think I'll bung it in on "on lowish for an hourish" Grin and see how that goes.
