oliveoil · 15/03/2006 13:06

We don't have frozen food, apart from peas, and I can get those in Asda.

I think the advert with whatsherface, the food looks hideous, heartburn on a plate imo.

Norah · 15/03/2006 13:06

cheap innit ??

Always got bogofs and 2 for 1 deals - get a lot for dosh - tastes like poo most of the time though - you get what you pay for

No GM food....

Boopert · 15/03/2006 13:08

You can buy shit in a dish.

breadandroses · 15/03/2006 13:09

Normal food there (ie not frozen crap) is similarly priced to Tesco/Asda.

So not that cheap.

And they don't do organic nowt, not even milk.

bamboo · 15/03/2006 13:09

Ours has closed and is turning into an M&S Simply Food. Hurrah!

zippitippitoes · 15/03/2006 13:10

we bought their millennium cakes which were a great bargain

mummycan · 15/03/2006 13:10

It's good for freezer basics - sweetcorn, peas etc. Also the party food is good if you've got the girls coming around - and I can walk to it!

JonesTheSteam · 15/03/2006 13:11

Have been to ours once - walked around and came out again - have never been in since!!!!

georginarf · 15/03/2006 13:11

nothing cod, nothing. Is no USP to Iceland other than it is horrid

cod · 15/03/2006 13:11

dop you mean "indian snack selctiosn"

mm looove those

OP posts:
mummycan · 15/03/2006 13:12

Bamboo you won't be saying that when everything costs three times as much. M&S food is overrated - much prefer waitrose for the nice stuff

zippitippitoes · 15/03/2006 13:13

those tables loaded with food in the ads are a postmodern take on e blyton's farmhouse teas i think

Norah · 15/03/2006 14:20

M & S food overrated !!!! Never !!

nutcracker · 15/03/2006 14:20

I go mainly because I don't drive and I can get it delivered free.

Boopert · 15/03/2006 14:21

Love M&S. Thats where i go if i need party food....
Waitrose if M&S don't have what i'm looking for.

expatinscotland · 15/03/2006 14:21

no b/c i've never lived near one. otherwise, i'd go.

Kelly1978 · 15/03/2006 14:26

They do really nice spicy chicken things. Proper spicy, not like m&s waving a chilli in the general direction of it.

most of it is rubbish tho. Their indian bits aren't nethign like the real thing.

ProfYaffle · 15/03/2006 14:30

DH and I went on holiday to Rekjavic (sp?) got sick to death of the 'country not the shop I hope!' and 'Mum's gone to Iceland!' quips.

Grrr.

littlerach · 15/03/2006 15:38

Our closest ahs closed too, and is reopening as MandS Food. Nicer than Iceland I feel.

georginarf · 15/03/2006 15:40

when I was at university I knew a boy whose parents were the ones who came up with the 'Mum's gone to Iceland' slogan

they have a lot to answer for I feel
