Just did a beef and lentil stew in slow cooker which came out really well do thought i would post it here. Beef stew often comes out bland I find so I was pleased.

I fried sliced onion with a few rashers chopped bacon. Put in dish. Then fryer stewing beef (nice organic stuff from duchy originals I got on sale). Put in cooker dish. Added chunks of peeled potatoes and butternut. Spoonful of flour stirred in. Then Made up ready made stick but put in frying pan and added - but if honey, tomatoe paste, fresh thyme, good gulf red wine and brought to boil. Put about 100g lentils in with meat and veg then poured stock mix over so just covering. On high for four hours. added cooked frozen peas at end.

Ds has had and I think there's probably enough for four adults if served with generous portions mash/ rice. On 400g meat that's pretty good. And I'm pleased with how delicious it is.
