Soften your onions in a frying pan and chuck in your celery, garlic, carrots etc. Put in slow cooker. Brown your mince in the frying pan and chuck that in too. Then chuck in a tin of chopped tomatoes, a glug of wine, some seasoning (whatever you have- italian seasoning or basil or whatever) and a squeeze of tomato puree. Put lid on slow cooker and ignore for several hours.

Thank you was unsure about browning mince! Tomorrows dinner sorted then!

Sounds yum! Have to try that one.

chuck in your packet of raw mince, pour over your jar of bolognese sauce and turn on Voila!

You don't have to brown it but I prefer to. The main thing is the onions. Onions not softened first just go odd in the slow cooker.

Oh never knew that. Thanks

When I make my veggie spag bol I just chuck it all in the slow cooker uncooker/browned, perhaps I'm unobservant, but I've never noticed my onions being odd! Grin

How many hours to cook?

I prefer things browned first. I think it adds to the colour and flavour of the finished dish.

Cheap cuts if meat can be cooked all day if you want. Spag Bol in my opinion benefits from a nice long stewing.

i use my normal recipe but don't add the liquid, just the stock cube. smash the mince up a bit in the dish. don't bother browning anything first. its much easier to do lasagne this way as it keeps the work in the evening to a minimum - just have to do white sauce, and put it all together with pasta

ditto noyouhavehadawee yum
