Ok, I have a 2kg gammon joint. What can I do with it?

Was just going to smoother in honey as always but what can I serve with it.

The usual mash and cabbage combo is getting a bit boring.

Any ideas?
TIA

Cook it in coca cola! A La Nigella + ham. Grin

I thought about the Nigella way Grin

Never done it but we have 3 bottles of pepsi in the fridge. Would that work?

What does it taste like when done?

to echo flossam, it is fabby fab fab!!!! Not done it since xmas- must do. yum.

There maybe a slight problem though.
I don't think the joint will fit in the casserole dish.

what about the old trad parsley sauce?

I tried the cola method but prefer cider - or water actually as long as there's lots of mustard/brown sugar glaze to zap it with after simmering

bake in oven cross cut the fat and pour on honey and mustard.personally mash and pickle is my fave but you could try roasted veg and potatoes

If you have a biiiig saucepan then you cook it in full fat coke on the hob. I think you add an onion (haven't done it since the xmas before last!) Put a shout out for the Nigella coke recipe and someone will help!

I don't have a pan big enough either.

It is a massive joint.
I'd really like to try it too.
