You posted a choc cake recipe a while ago which you said you could make three days in advance and keeps well.

Am planning to make one for ds's birthday. What size cake tin? And when a measurement is 'a cup' is it large or small cup?

Sorry - am complete baking-aphobe, but want to be nurturing baking mummy for DS's special day.

sorry

a cup is an american measure (actually the recipe is from NZ) I am sorry I dont actually know what it is in grams or ounces Blush

I have a cup measure that I use.

I use a 22" diameter springform cake tin.

Its a lvoely cake though, not v sweet but that is usually ok with the icing.

Thanks! is it like a teacup or more like a mug?

i am also v bad at icing. Usually too runny or way too sickly.

I am actually a good cook but just cannot make cakes.

Can we have a link to the recipe, please ?!

Enid · 07/03/2006 13:50

don't worry about the icing being too sickly the cake can cope

the cake stays lovely and moist. Make sure you let it cool in the tin before taking the greaseproof off

Enid · 07/03/2006 13:51

then stick it in a tin and it will be fine for three days

puddle · 07/03/2006 14:22

Ok Enid. You will be my baking guru if this works well.
