Kitchenaid owners-Do you love it as much as you thought you would?

Hi

I've recently "come into" Hmm some money and rather than spend it on my car (which is a money pit but I somehow always manage to fund somehow) I'm thinking of buying myself my dream kitchen gadget.

Did you find you loved your stand mixer as much as you thought you would or was it an anticlimax? I ask as someone who is worried I've built up owning one to something more than it is.

More then love them. I would marry mine. Grin

Yes, in fact I've found mine comes in more useful than I first hoped! I really only considered cakes when I bought it but I use it a lot for pastry, mashed potatoes, pancakes... So many things!

Absolutely. It is fantastic. I use mine regularly and always seem to grin when I'm doing so! It makes me smile when I catch sight of it in the kitchen.

SilverLining · 24/07/2012 20:27

I love mine but not quite as much as I thought I would....does look fab in my kitchen though & I can make a lemon drizzle cake in 5 minutes flat!

feelingfull · 24/07/2012 20:32

Mashed potatoes? Please tell me more BrianB

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 24/07/2012 20:34

Love mine, mashed potatoes with the paddle beater, easy.

feelingfull · 24/07/2012 20:36

Please tell me what else non-baking or bread related that you do. Because apart from baking, mine serves as a letter tray! But it does look amazing

ilovemykitchenaid · 24/07/2012 21:07

I LOVE mine! Grin
I've only had mine for a month but have done cakes a plenty, merengue, bread/ pizza dough and I can now make the dc american style pancakes for breakfast in the blink of an eye!
And ds doesn't freak out about the noise it makes - unlike my hand mixer.

Redglow · 05/08/2012 19:58

I love it if me and my husband split up that is one thing that I would demand custody for.

thegingerone · 05/08/2012 21:45

Thanks all. I am now the proud owner of a Boysenberry one.

Love it. Haven't had as much of a chance to play with use it as the darn kids are on holidays and demand removal from telly interaction/entertaining/co ordinating.!! ds1 has his eye on my kitchenaid actually but I'm still too possessive to let him loose with it.

OhDearNigel · 08/08/2012 14:01

I've always had one from when I was a 19 year old pastry apprentice. I could not imagine my kitchen without it - it is as essential to me as knives

MikeLitorisRings · 08/08/2012 14:50

I am so Envy

Every time a thread like this comes up I urge the OP to get a boysenberry one.
