I'm not a crap cook, but I'm a somewhat disinterested one... and I've never cooked a roast dinner

I know, I know SHAME on me etc etc

But DP always does it. Anyway, have a joint of lamb and need to be told how long to cook it for, what temp, what to do with it before I sling it in the oven and all that

Anyone want to spoon-feed help me?

Saint Delia is always your friend when it comes to roasting.

Here's Roast Lamb with bells and whistles. Just do what Delia tells you and it'll work.

My tip is 'timing'. Work out beforehand how long the different elements take and work back from the time you want to serve lunch. The lamb will take the longest, roast potatoes a shorter time and the veg can be quickly cooked while the joint is resting, potatoes are crisping and you're stirring the gravy.
