have made spag bol with tinned tomatoes and spag bol with dolmio and i prefer spag bol with dolmio and if i made a curry from scratch as well as problably costing a fortune for all the bits and bobs it would nt taste the same and is much easier to buy a jar, i have domestic science a level and am a good cook, dp is a qualified chef but its just easier to use jars especially if you have been at work all day and have a limited time to get dinner on the table before being made to feel you are starving your child!

Isn't one of the main problems with bottled sauces their very high salt content? It was this that brought me up short on the bottled pasta sauce front. I now use it only for emergencies.

I worship at the shrine of Lloyd. A cheap, tasty and quick meal, which all the family can enjoy Grin. Have you any idea how long it takes to make a sauce from scratch, when you have 2 hours to get the kids home, homework done, dinner on, bags packed for the next day, bath done and stories read? Life is to short to make your own pasta sauce.

Hurrah for Mr Grossman and capitalism!!!!
