Can I cook bacon / sausages the night before?

We have a big brunch every year for a large group of friends and always do bacon butties, scrambled egg etc. But I am v pregnant this year and back kills when I stand for any length of time so was wondering: could I fry back bacon and grill sausages tonight, chill and store in fridge, then fire in oven to heat tomorrow covered with foil? Think sausages will be fine but will the bacon go strange? Has anyone tried this? I would prefer hot bacon to cold.

Means I can have a lie in tomorrow and not worry about back aching from standing at stove - will already be faffing with eggs and veggie sausages!

Going to post this in chat too for added traffic as need to know - so please forgive double post! :)

I imagine so-I think what you'd want to avoid is it drying out either in the fridge or in the oven. It goes hard when cold, but once the fat melts again I'd think it would behave okay.

Definitely. They do that at the breakfast stall at out market. Although they heat it in a pan.

I often reheat bacon - I cook a whole pack at once and have the left overs on a bacon sandwich the next day - I usually just grill it again to heat it through and it's fine.
