What time is best for DC's dinner? And to 'supper' or not? Ideas needed...

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this...am sure it's a topic been done to death but stilll, I need some ideas!

DC's are 4 and 3. Normally give them dinner at 5-6pm. Finding this a problem now - too many differing food tastes etc...(yawn). DH and I eat much later, 8-9pm, so no option to all eat together in our house.

What time do you give similar aged children dinner? They have lunch at nursery about 12.30. Sick of giving theme endless 'snacks' between 1-3pm!

What time is a good one for their 'dinner'? And then do you/would you give a 'snack' or something 'supper-ish' before bed? If so, what are good ideas for that?!

Bedtime is 7.30pm for them both, though we're trying to move that back to 7pm. Ideas welcomed, I haven't a clue really and am stressed beyound all belief with other nightmare child related issues.........
Thanks

5-6 pm works for us. Ds now 10 and quite often needs a top-up of toast/cereal before bed.

At your dc's age, I would give a 3pm snack and then leave it until tea time. Come to think of it I still do that now! School dinners very small.....

Earlier dinner around 4 and then supper might be easier? Than at least you can get dinner dishes out of the way before bed... I recently started doing this with DS and it's so much easier. Supper is generally fruit and youghurt, ricecakes and fruit, special treat crepes (when I make them at the weekend I make a big batch and freeze) with nutella and banana, breadsticks and hummous or cheese, crudites and hummous... (cucumber and pepper is handy)
