Made far too much as usual for DD's birthday cake last week and thinking about putting the spare on some cupcakes this weekend...so it would be 10d old.

It's been in the fridge in a tuppaware box all the time, but I did put a little bit of milk in it.

What to you think?

I was told at a baking class it lasts like butter as long as its in a container. So should be fine.

Pity there's milk in it. Butter keeps for weeks in the fridge: milk only for about a week if it's supermarket. (Less if bottled).

Don't risk food poisoning!

I always make too much so I normally wap it in the freezer and then get bck out when ready to use. Defrosts relatively quick and I've kept it in the freezer for anything upto a month.

It will be fine - the sugar preserves it. I keep it for a month if I don't use it (I make cakes for a living) as long as the butter is in date, it will be fine

I'd taste it, you'll know easily enough if it's off because the milk will give it a slightly sour taste (and the butter would probably be rancid), I'd have thought it would be fine after ten days.
