Picnic tea for 4 children, completely out of ideas

I have a really busy week this week and had promised my friend I would have her dcs this evening, weeks ago.

Rather than the inevitable mess the house will be left in, I thought I would take the kids to the park with a picnic for dinner. Excellent plan! Except, now I have had a complete mind blank!

They all seem to be mid growth spurt and are eating ridiculous amounts of food.

I was thinking maybe cold pizza, sandwiches, cake/biscuits of some sort and some fruit. Take a big bottle of water and some cups rather than individual drinks as it is hot.

What else could I take?

Mini sausage rolls?
Salad?
Coleslaw / potato salad?

Why do you need to take more ? Sounds like it would be enough to fill them up (mine would be happy with it at least :). Sounds like you need ot make sure you have enough, rather than more choice.

Ooh, sausage rolls and cherry tomatoes, thanks!

Tbh, if it was just my kids I would just take them a packed lunch box with sandwich, cake, crisps, fruit and a bottle of drink and be done with it! But my friend's dcs are fussy in some ways and expect an adult portion of food so I want to be prepared!

Or maybe....Carrott, apples, breadsticks, cucumber, grapes, mini bread rolls.
Carton of juice/squash/water and some plastic cups and plates.
Done!

Can I come too? Had our last picnic in the car after lots of running around and then huge rainstorm. It actually was exciting.
