Freezing food in metal tin?

monkeysmama · 26/06/2012 17:50

I am making a lasagna which I plan to cook in the usual metal Ikea baking tin I use. I want to freeze it for a week or two after. Do I need to move it into something else to put in the freezer?

TIA

I freeze things like this in the tin
next day take it out, sit in warm water for a minute and pop the "block" out of the tin, put in freezer bag

Then you can use your tin for something else in the mean time, and put the lasagne back in the tin for cooking when you are ready.

could be a problem if you want to defrost it in the microwave, is the only thing.
