Cake recipe in June edition of Good Housekeeping - has anyone made it?

It's on page 199 of the edition with Kirsty Allsopp on the front. The cake has shards of chocolate around the edge of the cake and fruit on the top. I really like the effect of the chocolate but it seems quite tricky and time consuming to prepare the chocolate. Is it difficult and very fiddly to do? Thanks.

Looks like you make a chocolate sponge, slice and layer with a mousse. Looks ok to me. If time is an issue I would make the sponge in advance then cut up and layer.

The shards should be done using the tempering application but thats very fiddly. You could use twirls or any chocolate that suits.
