Yes.
My home ec. teacher (who was shite, so pinch of salt) said you should use clear juices with a fruit salad, and not a clouded one- so if you believe Mrs Jones, apple juice would be better. :)

yes, but add some lemon juice to it as well. The ascorbic acid in the citrus juices helps to slow the enzymic browning of the cut fruit; don't think there is any in apple juice.

I actually managed to burn fruit salad at school. :o
I'd forgotten fruit juice so the teacher told me to make syrup with sugar and water. It went all brown and horrible.

Sadly, no lemonade or brandy!

Dogeared - I think I would experience similar results if I tried to make syrup so might just eat the fruit as it is and forget the fruit salad idea.
