I accidentally opened a tin of green lentils

I'm not sure why I even have a tin of green lentils.

I have now opened the (intended) tin of black beans for dinner tonight, but what should I do with the lentils, other than stick them in the fridge and wait til they get mouldy?

I'm not just having black beans for dinner, don't worry, I realise it sounds a bit like that.

This recipe is fab! Although it says it's a winter soup it would still be nice now. Very easy and tasty.

Bacon and lentil soup - sounds good. What is orzo? Can I skip it?

Orzo is small rice shaped pasta. You could put a different small pasta in, or maybe even sub fr potatoes. That recipe really does sound nice, though!

Just make daal (OK, better with dried lentils but will still be nice). Freeze it if you don't want it for tomorrow's dinner.

Or you could probably just decant & freeze the lentils until you want them, actually!

I thought daal was yellow lentils - does it work with green?

You can make dhal with any lentils. I make it with yellow, green, black, kidney beans! It's a real staple in parts of India.

With green, you want spices, garlic and a few rough chopped tomatoes. Very tasty!

Yes, loads of recipes if you google! I just make it up as I go along though. I'd usually use red lentils but have used green lentils or yellow split peas.

a salad?

i like it with feta, tomato and mint with a vinaigrette

or beetroot, boiled egg and loads of parsley with a vinaigrette

I use green lentils instead of mince in tacos (usually just a lazy old el paso pack or the like) it's yummy.

Packet sausages, cook them, whilst making basic tin of tomatoes and chopped onion and herb sauce, add lentils, pour over sausages in baking dish, bung in oven for twenty mins

I use with mushrooms & tinned tomatoes in veggie lasagne.

I think I might go for the soup option, but will bear the others in mind.
