Hello,

I seek some recipe advice please wise folks. Myself and DP are taking some friends of ours to stay in a cottage in the wilds of Scotland for a few days over the weekend. There will be 6 adults in total - all with very healthy appetites!

I need some tasty dinner ideas as to what I can cook them all for dinners - we're all meat eaters. Being a bit skint I'd like to keep the cost down a little if possible.

Ideas greatly appreciated!

:)

This is delicious yet simple and low cost die to it being chicken legs not breasts.... You only need some potatoes and or bread to go along with it :-)

I really like this www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/lamb-recipes/moroccan-lamb-stew bit taffy to combine all the ingredients but then you just leave it and it is yummy. The lamb (necks or stewing) is cheap too.

Another favourite of mine is this one www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2265/braised-beef-with-red-wine-and-cranberry. Not many ingredients and really tasting.

Or if the weather is nice a BBQ?

Chicken thighs with mustard, honey, garlic and olive oil. Tiny bit of vinegar. In an oven dish. Boil up some new or regular potatoes and add that to the dish too and then roast in oven for about 30-40 mins - delicious. You can also add some green beans or similar to the dish about 10 mins before end.

Mmmm, oh gosh I'm getting rather hungry looking at these!

The chicken dish (HappyGirl) and the braised beef (Gatorade) recipes looks wonderful and very simple too - thanks!

Oh, thanks Camperfan - getting lots of ideas now :)

Gatorade - a BBQ would be wonderful but, alas, I don't the we will have the weather for it!

?Delias chicken basque is so nice and all in one pot so quite easy...
here

I also like a nice lasagne but jazz it up with roasted peppers, courgettes and aubergines in the layers. Serve with big salad and garlic flatbreads

Goats cheese and sun dried tomatoes stuffed chicken legs? Just put a wedge of cheese and a couple of toms under the skin, season well, roast with garlic and olive oil, serve with salad and home made potato wedges.
