I did the boil for 2 hours tin of condensed milk on Sunday (to make banoffi pie) but not opened it yet.
It'll still be ok won't it?
It's still sealed up.

Yep it should be fine. Once it's done it's done. Sort of thing.

Yep, it will keep for ages like that!

will be fine.
I usually boil 3 or 4 tins at a time and keep them closed in the cupboard until needed, sometimes months after.

Did you know you can buy tins of it already boiled as it were? Dulce de Leche I think it's called?

Anyway, I just came across them in the supermarket a few months ago, beside the tins of condensed milk. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

.........oh that's why my tin didn't turn out well. I used Evaporated milk!! Boiled it for ages to no avail!!

You can make dulche de lait/confiture de lait, too.

500g sugar
1l milk
vanilla essence

Chuck in pan. Heat gently until sugar dissolves. Boil stirring until the right colour/thickness.

Eat from pan Grin

Would probably work quite well in a slow cooker. It works in the simmering oven of an Aga, probably gas mark 1-2.
