I have made the following and frozen it

  1. lasagne
  2. pasta bolognaise
  3. mince pie
  4. veg casserole

what other meals can you make in bulk and freeze? i am hoping to start doing this on a weekend so i can eat better during the week rather than just throwing junk food in the oven because its quicker and easier when i get in from work

I make pasta sauce in bulk and freeze in portions for very quick meals for kids and you can use it as a base for something else.

Curry, stew, potato dishes (mashed potato, potato dauphinoise, potato boulangerie), fish cakes, pizza dough, burgers (if you cook them as well they only need a short zap in the microwave, but don't taste quite as good), meatballs (either in sauce or plain), soup (I freeze in portions to grab for work).

Chilli
Sausage/beef goulash
Curry
Stews

I tried freezing pasta bakes etc but the pasta gets too stodgy and overcooked so cook your sauces and freeze them. I batch cook a lot, the key is to always get tomorrows dinner out today whilst your cooking tonights dinner. Then you''re less likely to forget.

Soup
Cheese sauce
Pasta sauce
Shepherds pie
Pie fillings - just add some ready rolled pastry before cooking
Curry
Stew
Pork and apple slow cooked casserole
Pork, chorizo and paprika 'stew'
Stewed fruit - add to porridge, yoghurt or ice cream
Fishcakes
