Meatballs, fry or bake. with or without sauce?

I have made the sauce (it's quite thick) and made the meatballs but what now?

Can I brown them and then cover them in sauce and cook in a casserold dish with the lid on? How long for?

I brown them until the grill for about 10 mins (turn once) whilst simmering the sauce on the hob, then add them to the sauce, cover and simmer for another 10-15 minutes - again turning them over halfway through.

Guess it does depend how big your balls are Grin

I often follow a nigella recipe where you just put tjam in,the sauce uncooked. Before that I have baked th until beowned

I bake so they don't break up, then simmer in the sauce.

I have mini balls So Grin

I'm going to bake and then simmer I think!

Nigella's recipe is ace - no need to pre-cook the meat balls in any way

I always bake, the meatballs seem to retain flavour & are juicy. When coloured, I add the sauce & bake for a few more minutes to heat through. Yum!
