Corn on the cob - can ponce up with chilli and lime butter etc
Coleslaw - myriad recipes out there for more inetresting than bought varieties ( eg Jamie Oliver )

Can I point you to my shameful secret? - There's a programme on the food network (freeview) about 9pm called Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. You could get loads of ideas from that. Despite the title there's plenty of use of fresh ingredients & cooking from scratch.

Sweet potato mash. YY to corn-on-the-cob too.

lilolilmanchester · 10/05/2012 12:14

BellaVita · 10/05/2012 12:15

Mmmmmm

Coleslaw and big fat wedges.

BloooCowWonders · 10/05/2012 12:18

Soft white rolls, coleslaw, potato salad, lots of beer.
Job done (at least in dh's part of the US)

NettoSuperstar · 10/05/2012 12:23

I made these baked beans just last week.
Iseenodust, I love that programme, and have one of the recipe books.
I made burgers, coleslaw and potato salad from it last Saturday, and have tried a pasta dish too.

iseenodust · 10/05/2012 12:25

Netto Ooooh I didn't know there was a book.

wordfactory · 10/05/2012 12:32

French potato salad? It has eggs, mayo and (I think) parsley. Plus you don't skin the potatos beforehand.

BlackAffronted · 10/05/2012 13:34

Oh dear, is that another cookbook I will have to buy? Grin

NettoSuperstar · 10/05/2012 16:10

DD chose it but it's really good. Not as meat and stodge heavy as I'd thought it would be, though we don't mind that either!
Photos of the meals are on my FB.
