Can I make hollandaise sauce in advance?

It is possible to keep it warm in a bowl over a pan of hot water.
However, this doesn't work well and it's very prone to split.
It's really much better to make it just as you want to serve it.

Delia, has a recipe for a hollandaise foam, in her how to cook book 1, and says that you can keep that till you need it. I have never made it but her hollandaise sauce is amazing.

thank you both - I braved it and did it as everyone was arriving. It worked out fine, but considering I had not idea what it should taste like it turned out ok and didn't curdle.
