It's got pieces of salmon, smoked haddock and cod in it. The thought of peeling, cooking and mash

make a risotto with it? if you're up to all the stirring, that is.

Fish curry/stew/chowder?

Just fish in a sauce - served with some potatoes or chips or rice?

Or fish pie mix, in a sauce made in to a pie using ready made pastry instaed of potato??

chezchaos · 28/04/2012 14:58

Make a simple creamy sauce and serve with pasta?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/04/2012 14:58

Bouillabaisse?

McPhee · 28/04/2012 14:59

sod it. I'd put it in the freezer and get take out Grin

Get0rfMoiLand · 28/04/2012 14:59

You could make a fish pie but just have a lancashire hotpot topping - you don't need to make mash then (I agree sometimes the thought of peeling, boilgin and mashing spuds makes me feel tired) you can just slice them and layer on top.

Get0rfMoiLand · 28/04/2012 15:00

Actually what Mcphee said. Grin

QIelf · 28/04/2012 15:00

what is fish pie mix?

supernannyisace · 28/04/2012 15:00

mcphee that made me Smile

mmmmmchocolate · 28/04/2012 15:14

Oh mcphee that would have been my first idea :) but I got it out of the freezer this morning!

Getorf- would the fish over cook whilst the potatoes were cooking? I like that idea next time I can't be arsed to make mash for cottage pie Grin

All fab ideas but liking the look of the simple sauce and pasta! TBH I've just made a lemon drizzle cake and would be quite happy with the whole cake a slice of that. The tea is just for the children's benefit. :)

Thai fish curry.Gumbo.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/04/2012 15:23

Skewer it and grill with garlic butter or something. Serve with rice or jacket spud .

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 29/04/2012 11:56

Next time, take the potatoes in the microwave rather than boiling. Scoop out the flesh and there's yer mash.

It's taken me 30 years of cooking to work that out.

btw there's no need to defrost fish pie mix before using. Much fish pie talk on this thread.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 29/04/2012 11:57

bake not take Hmm

HandMadeTail · 29/04/2012 12:02

Bake the potatoes in the oven. When they are done, scoop out the skins and mash the potatoes with butter, milk etc.

No need to peel at all.

HandMadeTail · 29/04/2012 12:02

Oh, x post.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 29/04/2012 15:47

Great minds, HandMade :)

seabuckthorn · 30/04/2012 13:32

Handmade and Jenai- that is a brilliant idea. How did I burn many a pan of boiled potatoes before I realised this?
I feel quite smug with this knowledge now :)
