It is nigellas buttermilk cake filled with jam and buttercream, coated in buttercream and then ready to roll icing. does it need to be wrapped up right away or when the icing hardens? Do i need to put it in fridge or if I wrap it can i put it in say the unused microwave- would that be fairly cool and airtight? or just wrapped and left in kitchen? what to wrap in? foil, cling film??
Googling gives conflicting advice so help appreciated

Cling film or in a old sweetie tin anything air tinght tbh

Straight away is best else the icing may crack as hardening

Air tight, dry, cool and dark!

Old roses or sweet tin. Put a rolled up tesco bag under the cake but hanging out the sides of the tin so the lid fits tight so you can get it out again without breaking it.

ok- i let it dry/ harden up a bit then wrapped it in a tin foil tent and put in the microwave. Its not completely airtight, some gaps in foil but i read this was preferable to completely sealing it up. its too big to go in a tin and i don't have a cake box or anything. will it be ok till Saturday?

Should be as the microwave is airtight :-)
