I use to bake lots....I rearlised last week that i don't bake regularly anymore.

I would love to have a regular baking slot in a week (work 4 days so not a lot of time).
maybe on a Sat afternoon and then I could freeze some for the week ahead

What quick bakes do you recommend please?

Wow - thank you all
Do you know I have a Bero baking book given to me by my Mum in 2001 - she had one given to her by her mum. I used it all the time as a child.

Well this weekend I have made:
Flapjack
Rock cakes
Lemon Drizzle
(I have frozen some of the above so I can whip out baked goodies after a full day at work Grin )

Next weekend I aim to make
Cinnamon Nutella cake (looks lovely)
and will browse the thread for some more ideas...

VikingVagine that "cake salé" sounds great.

YY to the be-ro book.

This book is meant for children (was given to dd) but it is fab! If I can't bully persuade dd into making things from it I often use it myself. Lots of dead easy but slightly out of the ordinary things (favourites here include madeira cake with finely chopped apple in it, 'pizza' with a fruit & jam topping).

The savoury cake looks fab, will definitely try it as I'm always looking for savoury snacky things for when we don't fancy sweet. Thanks :)

YW! We have it quite often with a green salad, and it really can be made with anything (cooked chicken, onions, crispy bacon, roasted peppers etc).

I have just made the cinnamon nutella cake on the back of this thread but unfortunately did read the reviews which warned that the cake didn't need an hour! I'd have taken it out a good fifteen minutes earlier. Lovely, albeit a bit overlooked, though.

I made Tana Ramsays double chocolate brownies and they were crap. I am never veerign from Nigel Slater's recipe again!

I also defrosted some of Delia's Iced Lemon curd layer cake I froze over Easter. It froze brilliantly, even the icing. Will def freeze cake again, it tasted just as light and fresh as when I froze it.
