Birthday party food, one child can only eat halal food - anything I might need to know apart from meat/jelly?

I know he won't be able to eat the ham sandwiches or mini sausages/sausage rolls but I'm wondering if there's anything not immediately obvious to me? His mum just said no meat or jelly so I'm assuming that's the gelatine.
Does this mean he can't eat haribo type sweets? I've put choc buttons in his party bag but now I'm worried about the Pass the Parcel etc Confused
Really want to get this right so any advice very welcome.
Menu
Sandwiches - ham/jam/cheese
crisps - multiple types!
sausages/sausage rolls
cucumber/carrot sticks
then
fruit
biscuits
& cake...

TIA Smile

Just make sure the cakes/sweets are suitable for vegetarians then you won't have any problems :-)

I note M and S now do percy pigs as a veggie version :-)

Just check packaging of sweet stuff for gelatine, no haribo, marshmallows etc Chocolate good, also check flavouring of crisps especially if you are just putting them in a dish.

Thank you. I've been through the packaging after a sudden jam crisis and checked that pectin is halal not haram so all seems ok - I shall just have to pounce on him and substitute his turn at pass the parcel in a non-frightening way! for more chocolate buttons.

It's the gelatine that would be a problem, but Haribo do a veggie mix if that helps. You can also get vegan marshmallows but they are a bit pricey for a children's party.

Peanut butter sandwiches? Marmite?
A few dips - mayonnaise mixed with herbs/spices or some houmous?

The rest sounds great, and is making me hungry!

Yes yes to veggie Percie Pigs in M&S. They taste just like the normal ones...

Thank you everyone, party was yesterday, no mishaps thank goodness apart from the child with suspected concussion on the bouncy castle
Am quite tempted just to test the veggie Percy pigs - just for market research you understand!
