It's my mum's birthday in a couple of weeks and I was chatting to her yesterday she was singing the praises of the new chocolate philli and saying she can't stop eating it. She then went on to say she'd wondered about making it into a cake - so now of course I want to make her one for her birthday.

I can cook but I am RUBBISH at baking! Can anyone out there give me some ideas as to how I can incorporate the choc philli into a cake - should I just do a plain old victoria sponge that is sandwiched with the stuff or can anyone suggest something a bit more exciting?

If you made the vic sponge with cocoa instead of some of the flour = choc sponge, the sandwiched with choc philli and black cherry pie filling finished off with more philli (or whipped double cream) and the other half of the pie filling on top it could become a very decadent and posh black forest gateau...
