Have done two recipes so far from it and both delicious, also very easy and straightforward so great for every day cooking.
Love it (dh and dd agree btw!!! )

I have this book and it's great! Wish my boys would eat more mixed up food so i could use it more though.

what sort of recipies are they? what have you cooked? thanks

Frenchgirl · 05/02/2006 16:17

It's got several sections, ie vegetarian, chicken, pork/sausages, beef, puddings, and the principle is that all the ingredients cook together. So there are stews, soups, risotto, etc.. A lot of it is comfort food, but there is a good balance of traditional recipes and more modern international stuff
Have made the chorizo and canellini beans stew and the quick beef stew (both fabulous)
Dd who is 6 and a half enjoyed both

also think it will make it easier to plan a few meals in advance for the week (as am not very organised usually...)

Frenchgirl, do you think there is not enough attention to your book? FWIW I think Lindsey Bareham is great - sad day when she left the Evening Std. try her book "supper won't take long" - also very good.

Am going to get it for DP

Frenchgirl · 07/02/2006 21:26

florence, yes! I think it is one of those very practical books that make a big difference to every day cooking, am v excited about it (sad, I know...) Will look for the other one, thanks!
