A layer of sliced potato on top of a fish pie - parboil first?

Do I need to put oil too?

I don't want a layer of crunchy, raw potato.

How do I do it?

Definitely parboil first.

Or make mash.

Do not put raw potato on

I don't. Just slice pop on top, put little butter and stick in oven. Depends how quick you want it

I crumble few plain crisps on top for extra crunch!! Love fish pie what one did you do??

I always do raw potato in oven for bout an hour? It's always nice

SilentBoob · 25/03/2012 13:54

Parboil it is then. Or mash. I don't have an hour. Next time will try raw and in for an hour.

I always boil the potatoes whole in boiling water for 10-15 mins . Then slice them and bake on top of our for 40 mins ( having brushed with a little melted butter.)
