I generally think I'm an ok cook but, actually, I'm rubbish at it!

Today, I had to make a tomato sauce to add to pasta. I rummaged in the freezer for some chopped onion and frozen garlic and came across frozen coriander. Why on earth did I think it was going to make the sauce taste better? It was vile Sad.

This sort of thing happens often. I just add random stuff to what would have been a perfectly acceptable dish and totally ruin it.

Am I alone in this annoying habit? Can I change and start making nice tasting meals?!

My mum does this! I was raised on her "experimental" cooking!

Luckily I moved to France when I was still young enough to learn which foods go together and which don't :)

Maybe try reading up about "marrying" flavours and textures?
