how long can leg of lamb be kept in fridge?

i just bought a leg of lamb from over the meat counter in tesco, its for sunday lunch, but forgot its only wednesday doh

how long can it be kept in the fridge? need to know soon as i need to either fridge it or freeze it, id like to fridge it rather than freeze it though, cheers

If you cook it, I think it can be kept for longer. (I take it there is no best before date on it.)

no kid, it was from over the tesco meat counter, i thought perhaps the bag it was put in would advise but nope....wont be cooking it until sunday, im having no luck googling either, arrggh

thanks for that kid, what a fab website, (ive stuck it in my favourites), very useful!

i rang mil who said she would put it in freezer, so i went to do just that and as i picked it up i noticed the tesco sticker that has the use by date on it
